March 15, 2005...Whistler residents, community organizations and businesses can provide feedback on the draft pre-design options of highway improvements between Brandywine and Function Junction of the Sea to Sky Highway Improvement project at one of two open houses scheduled in April.

 

March 15, 2005....Twelve high school students and two chaperones from Karuizawa, Japan arrive in Whistler Thursday (March 17) for a week-long stay with Whistler secondary students and their families, the first part of the annual sister city student exchange program.

March 8, 2005. Whistler is one step closer to its new library facility, after Council passed third reading of the rezoning bylaw to permit the use on Lot 20 at last night's regular meeting.  

March 8, 2005. Residents opposed rezoning of Lakeside Park at one of three public hearings held last night in the Council Chambers. Eight speakers, who were residents of the area, spoke against the commercial component that would be permitted under the rezoning.

Two veterans of Whistler's fire rescue service were awarded Canada's federal fire serviced exemplary service medal Monday at the regular council meeting (Feb. 21).

 

Paid-On-Call Assistant Fire Chief Jim Crichton and retired Paid-On-Call Captain Brian Brown each received the  federal fire services Exemplary Service Medal, awarded through the office of the Governor General of Canada and presented by Mayor Hugh O'Reilly.
